Hello fellow readers, first off we want to wish everyone of our faithful customers and fellow book nuts a fantastic new year. 2023 was a banner year for us here at Red Herring Books and we project significant growth in 2024 for our business. Of course, we have you to thank for that and for the never ending support you give us.
Well everyone, what do you want to talk about?
Nicole and I just finished doing an inventory of our complete library and while we certainly found some discrepancies, we've cleaned up our books, cleaned up the listings both here on redherringbooks.ca as well as our Etsy store. It was a long process (400+ books!), but it was also a fun time to go through each book, examine it, discuss it, but we always have fun when it comes to books!
We had occasion recently to take a drive out to nearby Chilliwack, BC for a shopping trip to two of our favourite book stores, Nuggets Used Books and The Bookman. Both are fantastic shops with amazing selections. Be prepared to spend hours! After loading up our bags, we took a snowy stroll through the revitalized
downtown area and explored it's new shops and eateries, stopping in to warm up at Field House, a fantastic local brewery to enjoy a pint and a pizza. What a great day!
We hope everyone's holiday season was wonderful and that there were many books unwrapped!
What has everybody been reading lately? We here are off to a strong year of great books. Nicole has even read a couple of Louis L'Amour westerns! Her love of Red Dead Redemption must have rubbed off onto her literary choices. I've read a couple of biographical books, starting off the year with Melissa Gilbert and currently reading Michael J. Fox's latest book. Both are great reads and something a little different than my usual choices. I guess both of us are heading off the beaten path with our book choices!
We are updating redherringbooks.ca with new items every single day, so keep coming back to see the latest and to find that one book, set, or hidden gem you've been looking for. We'll talk soon.
Happy reading!
